Frequently asked questions

What you might want to know before buying or using a Minglitang reading.

What is BaZi?

BaZi (八字, lit. "eight characters" — also called Four Pillars) is the core of Chinese classical destiny analysis. From your birth year, month, day, and hour, four pairs of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches are derived — eight characters in total. Within them sit your five-element balance, ten-god positions, and the rhythm of your sixty-year luck cycles. Minglitang uses this chart as the foundation for everything from a free Day Master reading to a full master-signed deck.

What's the difference between the free 90-second reading and the Mastery deck (A$59)?

The free reading is about 300 words covering your Day Master and elemental balance, returned in seconds. The Mastery deck is hand-signed by a credentialed master, cites classical texts (渊海子平, 三命通会, 穷通宝鉴, 滴天髓), unfolds five life domains plus a Life Curve, and arrives as twelve cards in a PDF. Master turnaround is typically 24–72 hours.

Who actually writes the Mastery reading?

A credentialed Chinese-speaking master on the Minglitang panel. Each master's lineage and credentials are visible in the Masters directory. Every Mastery card is reviewed and signed by the master before delivery.

What if I don't know my exact birth time?

Time accuracy matters, but even an approximate window — or just the date — still yields a useful chart (the precision level is labelled on each card). See our Learn guide on finding your exact birth time for state-by-state Australian birth-certificate access and practical tips for estimating the hour.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Stripe handles every payment, including credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD).

Can I get a refund if I'm not happy?

If you have any concerns about a Mastery deck or paid report after delivery, please contact us at support@minglitang.com.au or via our contact page — we'll work through it with you case-by-case.

Does Minglitang predict my future?

No. Our position is "guidance, not prophecy — for reflection, not decision." A reading shows the shape and rhythm of your chart, like a mirror, not a script.

Is my birth data safe?

Your birth date, time, and location are treated as sensitive personal information — encrypted at rest, accessible only to the master assigned to your reading and authorised system services. Minglitang complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988. Full policy at /privacy.

Where are the masters? Do I need to book?

Our masters are based in Australia and serve global Chinese-speaking users remotely. The Mastery deck is delivered asynchronously — no appointment needed. For a 1:1 video consultation or an in-person reading, use the buttons below to book.

Is the reading in Chinese or English?

You choose at checkout — Simplified Chinese or English. All our masters work in both. Your reading is written in your chosen language and the masters' tradition shows through the classical citations either way.

Can I gift a Mastery deck?

Yes. The /gift page handles the full flow: you pay, the recipient receives a redemption email, then they enter their own birth details for the master to read. Recipients have 30 days to redeem.

How long until I receive the Mastery deck?

Master turnaround is typically 24–72 hours during Australian Eastern Time business days. You'll receive an email with a PDF download link the moment it's signed.

Can I re-read my own reading later?

Yes. Every paid reading lives permanently in your account, accessible any time.

Do you offer family or corporate group readings?

Today we offer two-chart compatibility readings (A$89). Multi-person family or corporate readings aren't yet on the menu — email hello@minglitang.com.au if you'd like to request a custom one.

Is Minglitang only for Chinese-speakers?

No. Our primary audience is the Chinese diaspora in Australia and New Zealand, but every paid tier ships with a full English version, and Minglitang is open to anyone curious about Chinese classical destiny analysis.
